Red Elephant

Everywhere you go in Zambia there are numerous children without parents, primarily because of the widespread HIV/AIDS epidemic. The Red Elephant is trying to help. Two or three times a year Dr. Charles Wood hops on a plane in Lincoln and travels halfway around the world—to Zambia, in the heart of Africa. Wood is a University of Nebraska scientist working on the front lines of the HIV/AIDs epidemic. In the summer of 2009, a crew from NET Television followed Dr. Wood to Zambia and saw first-hand what he’s doing for Africa, and what Africans are doing for themselves.
